We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Asia Meeting of the Econometric Society, East & Southeast Asia, hosted by Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking, AVSE Global, and EMLV Business School (Paris La Défense), will take place from August 2 to 4, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is now accepting papers. Students on the job market, advanced Ph.D. students, and early career researchers in all fields of economics are particularly encouraged to apply. This is an in-person meeting only.

Harrison Hong, John R. Eckel, Jr. Professor of Financial Economics, Columbia University, United States
Harrison Hong is the John R. Eckel Jr. Professor of Financial Economics at the Columbia University Department of Economics and Executive Director of the Program for Economic Research. Before coming to Columbia in 2016, he was on the economics faculty of Princeton University, most recently as the John Scully ’66 Professor of Economics and Finance. Prior to that, he was an associate professor of finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business from 1997- 2001. He received his B.A. in economics and statistics with the highest distinction from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 and his Ph.D. in economics from M.I.T. in 1997. In 2009, he was awarded the Fischer Black Prize, given once every two years to the best American finance economist under the age of 40. He received honorary doctorates from Stockholm School of Economics and Aalto University and is a past Director of the American Finance Association. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and an academic advisor at LSV Asset Management. He has contributed to a number of areas in financial economics, including stock market efficiency, behavioral finance, and climate finance. His recent work focuses on the role of the financial system in addressing climate change. He is a co-author on the upcoming Fifth National Climate Assessm/ent for the US Congress and an advisor on several climate risk assessments by the International Monetary Fund.
Charles I. Jones, Professor of Economics, Stanford Graduate School of Business, United States
Charles I. Jones is The STANCO 25 Professor of Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. Professor Jones has been honored as a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a fellow of the Econometric Society, and a co-editor of Econometrica. He is currently the area coordinator for the economics group at Stanford GSB.
Professor Jones is the author of numerous research papers and two textbooks, Introduction to Economic Growth (2013) and Macroeconomics (2020).
Gilat Levy, Professor of Economics, London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom
Gilat Levy is Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics. Previously she has held positions at Princeton University and the Berglas School of Economics at Tel Aviv University. She is a research fellow of the CEPR, a member of the Council of the Royal Economic Society, a member of the board of editors of the American Economic Review, and an associate editor of Theoretical Economics. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv University. Her research interests are in microeconomic theory and political economy. Her research has been published in leading journals in economics, including the Journal of Economic Theory, the European Economics Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the American Economic Review, Econometrica, and the Journal of Public Economics.

Mark W. Watson, Howard Harrison and Gabrielle Snyder Beck Professor of Economics and Public Affairs, Princeton University, United States
Mark Watson is the Howard Harrison and Gabrielle Snyder Beck Professor of Economics and Public Affairs at Princeton University and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Econometric Society. His research focuses on time-series econometrics, empirical macroeconomics, and macroeconomic forecasting. He has published articles in these areas and is the author (with James Stock) of Introduction to Econometrics, a leading undergraduate textbook. Watson has served on the editorial board of several journals, including the American Economic Review, the Journal of Applied Econometrics, Econometrica, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, the Journal of Monetary Economics, and Macroeconomic Dynamics. He has served as a Consultant for the Federal Reserve Banks of Chicago and Richmond. Before coming to Princeton in 1995, Watson served on the economics faculty at Harvard and Northwestern. Watson did his undergraduate work at Pierce Junior College and California State University at Northridge and completed his Ph.D. at the University of California at San Diego.
